Shinbashi Yakiniku

The first time I heard there was a halal Japanese restaurant in Melbourne, I was really excited to try it. The place is not very far from where my daughter lives – specifically, on Lygon Street which is famous for its restaurants and cafes. Shinbashi Yakiniku serves food in the same way as K-BBQ or Chinese hotpot where we cook the food that we order. I think the menu portions here are a little bigger than the Korean restaurant we last visited. Also, here we truly cook everything ourselves, unlike in the Korean restaurants where the waiters help. I loved the edamame, a type of bean that tasted like chickpeas. The way to eat it is the same as the boiled peanuts in Indonesia, but the edamame was more delicious in my opinion. We ordered beef wagyu, sirloin, shrimp, chicken, two types of mushrooms, takoyaki (octopus balls) and not to forget the miso soup, rice and salad. To complement the food they provide soy sauce, chili powder and miso paste. Service is quite friendly and fast. In the restaurant there are Japanese style tables where we have to take off our shoes, and ordinary tables and chairs. I think this restaurant can accommodate quite a lot of customers. Enjoy.

Selamat mencoba.
