On a “donut day” where the Victorian government eased restrictions and allowed dining-in at restaurants, I took the opportunity to meet my children and grandchildren whom I missed. They lived far from me when we could only be within 25km radius of our homes, at that time. Their choice was a Korean restaurant with halal options in the area where I used to live. This restaurant is bigger than one in North Melbourne and when we arrived it was already full of customers. Most of those who were eating there were also families with children. Our dinner started with a choice of chicken soup or pumpkin soup which were very nice. This time I let my kids order starting with yummy beef cooked on the grill in front of you and small sides of vegetables which I thought was too few considering the number of us who’d ordered. Cucumbers in sesame seeds, kimchi, and bean sprouts were in small bowls as sides along with bowls of salad and rice. My young granddaughter ordered the shrimp tempura kid’s meal and the grandson went for his favorite food – fries which he loves with every meal. To be honest we all felt very full with the generous amount of meat. With limited seating times we had to have post dinner coffee at home. The important thing was that we are satisfied with the food and fast service from the waiters at this restaurant.

Pada “hari donat” dimana pemerintah membolehkan pembeli duduk makan dalam restaurant , aku mengambil kesempatan untuk ikut bersama anak-anak dan cucu-cucu ku yang aku rindu kan. Maklum mereka tinggal jauh dariku sedangkan kita cuma boleh dalam radius 25km saat itu. Pilihan mereka adalah restauran Korea yang halal didaerah tempat aku tinggal dulu. Restaurant ini lebih besar dari yang ada di North Melbourne dan saat kami datang sudah penuh dengan pembeli. Kebanyakan yg datang juga keluarga dengan anak-anak mereka. Makan malam kami di mulai dengan sup ayam dengan nasi serta pumpkin sup yg warnanya sangat menggoda. Kali ini aku membiarkan anak-anakku memesan makanan. Mulai dengan BBQ daging dan beberapa potong sayuran yang menurut aku kurang kalau dilihat jumlah kami yang mau makan . Ketimun yang dibalut wijen,kimchi, tauge ditempatkan didalam mangkok kecil menjadi teman makanan utama. Tidak ketinggalan semangkuk salad dan nasi. Cucu yang kecil memesan udang tempura dan yang laki-laki makanan kesukaannya kentang goreng yang tidak bisa dia lupakan setiap makan. Sejujurnya kami semua merasa sangat kenyang dengan banyaknya daging yang di pesan. Karena ini masih belum suasana bebasdalam ukuran waktu, terpaksa aku harus minum kopi dirumah. Yang penting kami puas dengan makanan dan pelayanan yang cepat dari pelayan direstaurant ini.
