Grounds of Eden

Grounds of Eden is a beautiful cafe in Coburg, with beautifully presented halal food and drink (the menu has Korean and Japanese influences). The standout for us was the squid ink spaghetti, and the coffee is very good. One thing to note is that while the food looked and tasted great, it did take a very long time to prepare.

The dirty rose (espresso, rose and lavender)

Service was generally friendly, particularly for our group whose numbers changed a couple of times. When we paid, the wait staff didn’t bother checking to see if our card payment had gone through, as she was too busy chatting to friends on a table at the front. I recommend booking on weekdays or getting there early on weekends.

An iced chocolate using hot chocolate from Mork (which is around the corner from my daughter’s home, and which I reviewed here)

The Down to Earth juice and a side of halloumi (my favourite!)
