Sehzade

Sehzade’s sits in the middle of an industrial wasteland in Melbourne’s far north, like an oasis of Turkish food surrounded by the warehouses and factories that dot the desolate outer reaches of the Hume Highway. Its decor is endearingly dated, and its staff treat you like family friends – both attentive and intent on stuffing you with food.Delicious lentil soup and chicken wings (with tasty, but far from oily, traditional Turkish rice) made way for our main of iskender (which was so-so; on a return visit I would choose something else). Like any good Turkish joint the portions are huge and meat is inescapable, though the extensive menu does cater well to vegetarians.
