My daughter and I have always been fans of dumplings. Since trying authentic 100% halal dumplings (at Chinger Biang Biang, various Uighur eateries and Roti Road which I previously reviewed on my blog). So after hearing the name of this place we had to go to it even though it was quite far from my home. This restaurant is in an area with a large Muslim population where it would seem strange if a restaurant here didn’t make its menu halal. From the outside it looks like there are only a few tables but after entering it turns out there are quite a lot of seats although space to move around in is a bit difficult. There were lots of visitors even on a weekday – we saw a group of more than ten people, with other smaller groups of diners. The waiter was quite busy but the service was fast and alert. Here we ordered vegetarian and beef dumplings, of course. Even though ‘dumpling’ is in the name of this restaurant, the menu had many other options too. My husband chose chicken with sweet and sour sauce accompanied by white rice… for starters we chose vegetable spring rolls, and lastly our must-have with Chinese food – fried tofu with a little chilli. On each table there are three condiments (chili sauce, soy sauce and vinegar) and once you are seated they offer a thermos of hot Chinese tea which is enough for 4 diners. I was sad there was no coffee but the complimentary tea is traditional for Chinese places. In Broadmedows, there are lots of halal restaurants – we just have to decide what food we want (we’ve reviewed several on this blog). Enjoy Dumpling Dynasty if you’re in the area.

Aku dan anakku dari dulu adalah penggemar dumpling sejak mencoba dumpling asli 100% halal di Chinger Biang Biang, berbagai restoran Uighur, dan Roti Road yang sudah aku review di blogku sejak lama. Jadi setelah mendengar nama tempat makan ini kami berusaha mendatanginya walau lumayan jauh dari tempat tinggalku. Restaurant ini ada didaerah yang banyak penduduk Muslimnya, dan sepertinya agak terkebelakang atau aneh kalau restaurant disini tidak membuat menu mereka halal. Dari luar kelihatan cuma beberapa meja saja tetapi setelah masuk ternyata lumayan banyak tempat duduknya hanya ruang untuk bergerak agak susah. Terlihat banyak pengunjung walau dihari kerja – terlihat ada group pembeli yang lebih dari sepuluh orang juga ada beberapa group kecil yang hanya dua atau tiga orang permeja. Pelayan lumayan sibuk tetapi pelayanan cukup cepat dan sigap. Disini kami sudah pasti memesan dumpling vegetarian dan juga beef. Walau ada kata ‘dumpling’ di nama restauran ini tapi menu yang tersedia banyak ragamnya sampai kami bingung memilihnya. Suamiku memilih ayam dengan saus ‘asam manis’ yang enak ditemani nasi putih; buat entree kami memilih spring roll sayuran, dan terakhir yang tidak pernah kami lupakan adalah tahu goreng dengan sedikit cabe. Dimeja telah tersedia tiga rasa saus kecap, sambal dan cuka juga satu termos teh China yang cukup untuk 4 cangkir. Ini yang membuatku sedikit kecewa karena tidak ada kopi. Di Broadmedows suburb ini banyak sekali restoran-restoran halal-kita tinggal menentukan mau makanan apa. Sepertinya sudah beberapa yang saya review. Selamat mencoba makan di Dumpling Dynasty ini.
