As a fan of healthy food including Vietnamese rice paper rolls I was excited to hear about a halal Vietnamese cafe. These are hard to find – there used to be one in Springvale but it’s no longer operating. This cafe is in a small strip mall in Altona; when we got there we saw at least two other halal eateries which we’ll review in future inshaa Allah as they were closed at that time. It’s small-complete with a TV-and it seemed many customers ordered their food for takeaway. We chose rice paper rolls, Vietnamese fried wontons and beef vermicelli soup; we also ordered for takeaway, but somehow they got our order wrong. What I ordered was the chicken rice paper roll, but what they gave me was the chicken spring roll. I was disappointed because Altona is quite far from where I live, and the rice paper rolls were amazing. So for Muslims who like Vietnamese food and happen to be in the Altona area, there’s nothing wrong with trying this place – and don’t forget to confirm what your order is!

Sebagai penggemar makanan sehat termasuk Vietnamese rice paper roll aku sangat berbahagia mendengar ada cafe Vietnamese yang halal. Susah untuk mencarinya, dahulu ada di Springvale road tapi entah mengapa mereka tutup. Cafe ini ada dideretan sekelompok toko2 kecil di Altona. Sesampai disana kami melihat dua lagi tempat makan yang halal yang Inshaa Allah akan kami review nanti karena mereka kelihatannya belum buka saat itu. Cafe ini walau ruangannya kecil, dilengkapi dengan TV. Kelihatannya lebih banyak orang yang membeli dan membawa makanan mereka atau take away. Kami memilih rice paper roll, wonton goreng Vietnam dan sup bihun daging sapi; juga memesan untuk dibawa pulang, tapi entah mengapa mereka salah memberikan pesanan kami. Yang aku pesan chicken rice paper roll, tapi yang mereka beriikan chicken spring roll. Benar aku kecewa dengan kejadian ini karena Altona cukup jauh dari tempat tinggalku. Jadi buat orang-orang Islam yang suka menu makanan Vietnam kebetulan ada didaerah Altona, tidak ada salahnya untuk mencoba dan jangan lupa menjelaskan apa pesanan anda supaya tidak terjadi kesalahan.
