Roti Bar

Workers have returned to fill the streets of downtown Melbourne, with places to eat again crowded with people seeking weekday breakfasts or lunches. This week after we picked up my beautiful granddaughter from RMIT University, we headed to one of the most popular Malaysian restaurants in the city – Roti Bar. Indeed, in a multicultural city like Melbourne, there are many halal Malaysian restaurants. We think this is a favourite as seen from the number of people filling the seats inside and outside. Service is very fast and quite friendly. We noted the decorative paintings on the walls of the restaurant depicting villages in Malaysia. Their menu is not too different from other Malaysian restaurants. Unfortunately they no longer provide the “roller buns” that a friend recommended replacing it with murtabak ayam (we got this information from one of the wait staff). We were quite happy with the chicken murtabak, roti canai with vegetable curry, cheese roti, teh tarik and Bandung syrup. If you are in the center of town in Melbourne, don’t forget to stop by this restaurant. Enjoy.

Selamat mencoba.
