From Coburg we headed to Racecourse Road, Flemington for dinner. A reader of my blog told me that there is a restaurant that provides a genuine Somalian eating experience. When we arrived it was early evening and there were few customers there but as we finished the dinner crowd had arrived, including customers picking up orders to take away. Our party of four shared the NSK classic (a lamb and spicy rice dish), basta (Somalian style pasta-we choose the beef option), and the NSK platter (a ‘sampler’ of the menu). There is a resemblance between Somalian and Middle Eastern food, but the Middle Eastern food tastes more oily. The Somalian felafel, I think, is more flavoursome and soft. If you want to try the yummy, spicy and relatively healthy Somalian cooking this is the place. A minor thing is unfortunately I do not see coffee there. The service is excellent, and the space is airy and comfortable.

Ketika kami sampai, ada beberapa kostumer disana tetapi saat kamu selesai makin ramai pengunjungnya. Menu yang yang kami pilih ada 3 macam: NSK classic, basta (pasta khas Somalia; kita milih yang daging sapi), dan NSK platter. Ada kemiripan antara makanan Somali & Timur Tengah, bedanya makanan Timur Tengah terasa lebih berminyak. Jenis falafelnya menurutku lebih enak dan empuk. Kalau anda ingin menambah perbendaharaan rasa masakan lain yang cukup enak disinilah tempatnya. Hanya sayangnya saya tidak melihat kopi disana. Pelayanan ramah, ruangan memadai.
