One of my best friends had just come back from Indonesia, and we felt it had been a while since we met up for coffee. Together with my daughter we went on the hunt for a halal place for brunch. We decided on Oasis Bakery which is in the suburb where we used to live, back when my children were still in primary school. The place is pretty big and they provide a decent sized parking lot making parking easy for customers.

I ordered a Teta’s Lamb and Eggs to accompany my cappuccino with my friend and daughter ordering a dish with toast, eggs, mushroom and salad with haloumi. Nothing really stood out food-wise when compared with other restaurants. Perhaps my expectations were too high that the lovely airy place meant there were special items on their menu. However there is no harm to try this nice little Middle Eastern grocer and bakery if you are around Murrumbeena. Service was comparatively slow, and bitsy in that you have to order coffee at another register. 

Teman baikku baru saja balik dari Indonesia, kami merasa sudah lama tidak ngopi bersama bersilaturrahmi… akhirnya kita bersama anakku juga menerima ajakan untuk mencari tempat halal untuk sarapan atau brunch (istilah Aussie untuk makan tidak diwaktu makan pagi juga belum waktunya makan siang). Keputusan kami jatuh pada Oasis Bakery yg berada disuburb tempat tinggal kami saat anak2ku masih Di primary school. Tempatnya lumayan besar & mereka menyediakan lapangan parkir yg lumayan cukup untuk beberapa mobil. Hal ini memudahkan pembeli.
Aku memesan toast, egg and lamb untuk mendampingi cappuccino ku.. teman dan anakku memesan toast, egg, mushroom & salad plus haloumi cheese sebagai tambahan. Tidak ada yang berbeda atau special bila dibandingkan dengan restaurant lain. Mungkin expektasi saya mengira bahwa tempat yang besar begitu pasti ada kelebihan atau keistimewaannya. Walaupun begitu tidak ada salah nya untuk mencoba apabila anda ada disekitar Murrumbeena. Saya rasa mereka juga harus mempercepat pelayanannya. Karena sedikit lebih lama dari tempat makan lain dengan jenis makanan yang sama & simple ini.
