For me, this restaurant is very family friendly with a lot of space, a great location by the Maribyrnong River and a nearby playground. Seating arrangements of varying style allow you to choose from outside or indoor seating.

The Boathouse’s Turkish-influenced menu includes bread and dip as an appetizer, mocktails (my choice is the one with carrot and orange), and delicious coffee. The food portions are quite large and there is a child-friendly menu.

Note that two menu items contain bacon and salami (you can request the wagyu burger without the bacon, for example) but these meats are cooked separately according to the Boathouse’s Muslim manager otherwise the rest of the meat used is halal.

The Boathouse is part-owned by Masterchef judge Gary Mehigan. Our dining companion Sofie Saleh – who reviewed this place for the wonderful Melbourne Muslims About Town blog – was told you might catch a glimpse of Gary as he frequently drops in.

Menu makanan ala Turkish dengan roti dan dip sebagai pembuka, juga mocktail (yang aku suka carrot dan orange), dan kopinya yang enak sekali. Porsi makanan cukup besar – bagusnya juga mereka ada menu untuk anak. 

Ada bacon dan prosclutto yang tidak halal tetapi dimasak terpisah menurut Muslim manager yang bekerja disitu, daging yang lainnya dijamin halal. Restoran ini sebagian dimiliki oleh bintang Masterchef Gary Mehigan.
