Halalicious Thai

Good news for halal Thai food lovers in Melbourne’s east. We came to Ashwood to try this place after seeing some good reviews. Lately many restaurants have sprung up offering halal food – it’s just that we didn’t have much opportunity being Ramadan 2025. Since Ashwood is not far from our own suburb, we checked it out. From a distance, we could see the name of the restaurant which along with clear حلال signage emphasised its halal-ness. With only 21 seats it’s cozy, although the space is neatly arranged. Most of the customers when we were there were via “Uber” or take away. The service is very friendly and fast even though it was busy. We ordered tom yum soup with prawns – I liked the taste of the broth which is just right – fresh papaya salad (which reminded me of pickles or rujak), and massaman curry with beef which was different from Indonesian curry; beforehand we ordered spring rolls as an appetizer. We should give you a heads up about the spice levels here; we chose ‘mild’ but that was already quite spicy for us. For drinks, we only ordered soft drinks because we had just broken our fast at home beforehand. We will come back to try other things from their menus, as it all looks delicious. If you are around this area, remember there is a Thai halal restaurant that is worth visiting!

Tulisan halal terlihat jelas dibeberapa tempat. Restaurant ini berkapasitas hanya 21 kursi. Walau kecil tapi lumayan tertata rapih. Kelihatannya kebanyakan pembelinya sa’at  kami disana adalah via “Uber” atau take away.  Pelayanan sangat ramah walau kelihatan sibuk-lumayan cepat.
