When we arrived at phatMILK – a cafe located not far from the city center – the place looked very small. But when we entered through the register and kitchen, it turned out there was another seating area in the back. The floor plan of the old building was not so great. We were greeted warmly by the owner who explained they were moving to the full brunch menu on weekends and outlined what was available that day. Before we went there we had seen their menus online with brunch dishes that looked delicious. But this was okay, because their coffee from Melbourne roasters Code Black was very good, and the service deserved a thumbs up. And available as a side was my favourite – fried haloumi. For this brunch, my granddaughter seemed to enjoy her double beef burger and chips. My vegetarian daughter was satisfied with her pumpkin quiche; I chose a spinach and fetta pastry and fried haloumi. This place only needs minor changes to improve the decor of the seating area at the back. The price , setting and coffee can’t be beaten and the presentation of the food on the plate is good. Enjoy!

Ketika kami sampai di phatMILK – cafe yang berada didaerah yang tidak jauh dari pusat kota – tempatnya terlihat sangat kecil. Tetapi saat kami masuk melewati register dan dapur, ternyata ada ruang duduk lagi di area belakang. Floor plan bangunan zaman dulu memang kurang begitu bagus. Kami disambut sangat baik dan ramah oleh pemilik cafe yang menerangkan apa saja yang tersedia hari itu. Ini diluar harapan kami yang sebelum kesana sudah melihat menu-menu yang kelihatan sangat enak. Tapi ini tidak mengapa, karena kopi mereka sangat enak dari Melbourne roaster Code Black dan pelayanan yang perlu diacungkan jempol. Juga ditambah adanya haloumi goreng kesukaanku. Untuk brunch kali ini, cucuku tampaknya menyenangi double beef burger dan chips kesukaannya. Juga anak vegetarianku puas dengan quiche pumpkin-nya; aku memilih pastry spinach dan fetta serta haloumi goreng. Cafe ini hanya perlu sedikit perubahan untuk decorasi ruangan . Harga lumayan terjangkau dan presentasi makanan bagus dipiring. Selamat mencoba.
