For a late brunch / early lunch we headed on Thursday to Balwyn to try Melbourne’s first plant based sushi train. As a vegetarian, my daughter was excited to go to this restaurant. When we entered we were greeted in a very friendly manner by two waiters. They showed us to the table we’d reserved in the comfortable, bright and clean space. Beside the tables of customers various types of sushi went passed urging us to select and eat them quickly. The colors of the sushi ingredients made them very tempting. We ordered Japanese green tea and miso soup along with agadashi tofu (I’m a tofu fan, as described in my posts) to go with the sushi, which our table seemed the most crazy about grabbing off the train. We also ordered cupcakes and mango mochi for dessert… unfortunately Japanese people are not coffee drinkers, with coffee what I always wish for to accompany my dessert. At least we were satisfied with our brunch today and rushed to the Italian cafe just a few doors away which served up the best coffee I’ve tasted in Balwyn.

I love Midori! I’m vegetarian too, so it’s a treat to be able to try anything that comes by on the train.
