Because my eldest is now a vegetarian, I often look for eateries that provide plant based menu items. It’s not that I don’t like vegetables but I think we also need meat and seafood. It’s up to her though – that’s her choice. In the Campbellfield area there are several halal options so we decided to eat at this Malaysian Chinese eatery (I refer to it as an eatery because its size is not quite the size of a restaurant). We saw several Muslim families there. Service is quite fast; we were greeted by the waiter who gave us menus while showing us to our table. While waiting for our order to arrive, I noticed the room was not that big, but quite orderly and decorated with pictures of their dishes on the wall. A halal sign is posted at the entrance. We ordered stir-fried vegetables, beef with blackbean sauce, and tofu – favourite of mine. Believe me, I often order fried tofu like this in several places, but here the tofu is really delicious. The beef with the sauce was also tender, which was a pleasure when we tried it. If you are in this area Westwok is certainly a good option.
Karena anakku sekarang menganut vegetarian, aku harus melihat restaurant yang menyediakan menu option untuk vegetarian. Bukan aku tidak suka sayuran tapi menurutku kita juga butuh daging dan makanan laut. Terserah dia lah, itu keputusannya. Di daerah Campbellfield ada beberapa pilihan halal jadi kami memutuskan untuk makan dirumah makan Cina Malaysia ini . Aku menyebut rumah makan karena ukuran luasnya tidak seperti restaurant. Terlihat beberap keluarga Muslim disana. Pelayanan cukup cepat; kami disambut pelayan sambil memberikan daftar menu mereka sambil mengantar kami duduk. Sambil menunggu pesanan kami datang, aku memperhatikan ruangan yang tidak begitu besar, tapi lumayan teratur dengan dihiasi gambar-gambar menu mereka didinding. Tanda halal tertempel di pintu masuk. Kami memesan tumis sayuran, daging sapi dengan saus taoco (blackbean sauce) serta tahu kesukaanku. Percayalah aku sering pesan tahu goreng seperti ini dibeberapa tempat tapi disini tahunya sangat enak sekali. Daging dengan sausnya juga empuk, menyenangkan ketika kami mencobanya. Apabila anda ada didaerah ini tidak ada salahnya mampir kesini.
