Moroccan Soup Bar Two Go

This famous Melbourne eatery with no meat, no alcohol, and a verbal menu of North African vegetarian cuisine has reopened in a time of COVID. It still operates with the same strong sense of ‘business-with-a-cause’. The place still empowers women through jobs, and these staff along with owner Hana Assafiri still treat you like family.

Operating during a pandemic era means lots of hand sanitizer, taking down customer details, and closing the main kitchen – instead, respecting social distancing by operating from a larger two storey place at 316 St Georges Road North Fitzroy, for limited dine-in (bookings absolutely essential). At around $40 each for our group of seven, the banquet was quite generous except for the dessert – some baklava – and most of the dishes were just okay, except for the soup, the haloumi side dish and the chickpea bake for which Moroccan Soup Bar is famous.
