Tanoor Middle Eastern Breakfast house, located on Forsyth Rd, Hoppers Crossing,is a bakery-cafe specialising in Middle Eastern bakery treats.
The decor of the cafe is tidy and modern with a distinctive spray-paint artwork spanning a whole side of one of its walls.
The bread is fresh and the portion sizes generous with plenty of vegetarian-friendly and meat options. Bakery selections include calzone, manoush, kaak and more, with a range of fillings such as chicken, lamb, feta and spinach.
There are also several traditional breakfast options like foul and hommos. The traditional breakfasts are accompanied by fresh bread and an assortment of pickles. Alternatively, there are big breakfast options with eggs and either sujuk or Lebanese sausage.
I have slowly been trying everything on the menu and have not had any disappointments. The haloumi fries and kaak (Lebanese bagel) are among my favourites.
As a huge bonus this eatery has a drive through. Although I have not used it, it may prove helpful if you need your coffee and treat on the go, or during the weekend.
Parking during these times can sometimes be a task as there is a busy play centre close by but the food here is worth the small struggle.
Staff are friendly. I had a lovely conversation with one of the ladies who served us, about our respective backgrounds.
Looking forward to trying everything on the menu here.
